Albert E. Browning, Downs grocer, died of heart disease at 8:20 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Hospital where he had been a patient for six weeks.  He had been in poor health for several months.  Mr. Browning was born in Greencastle, Ind Oct 23 1870.  He spent his early life there and married Edith Pearl Chaney in Bloomington Jan 29, 1905. There were no children. One sister died several years ago. The widow survives, Mrs. Paul Mandler, 1117 East Jackson Street is a sister-in-law, Paul M. Chaney, 603 W. Washington  St and Charles Chaney of Downs are brothers-in-law of Mr. Browning. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the John A. Beck company chapel with the Rev. Maurice Fogle of the Centennial Christian Church in charge. Burial will be at Greencastle. - kbz
